It's a New Year

Looking back at 2017 – it was a rough year for our family.  There was a diagnosis of dementia and the death of a loved one.  There were also family reunions and get togethers to celebrate life.

Looking ahead to 2018 – I am hoping for balance in my life and deeper relationship with the One who is full of grace and mercy.  God, family, friends – these are at the top of my list.

Life on this earth is fleeting; however, it is just the beginning of our lives as children of God.  While here we are to share the gospel with those in need.  I can’t say I’ve led anyone to Christ – my words are weak.  I pray my actions are Christ-like and that He continues to work in me and grow my ‘evangelistic’ skills.

Last year, I posted once.  This year, I hope to post numerous times.

Bring in the New Year


I just reviewed my resolution blog from 2013 and see that I was able to keep some of them :~)

I am not stressing over resolutions for 2014.  However, I am excited to see where the Lord will direct my path this year!

My prayer for each of you this new calendar year is to follow God’s leading in your life!

Happy New Year


My devotion today was perfect for looking into the new year:

"Jesus says that he is the way to God the Father. We can live confidently because Jesus walks with us. There is no reason to fear--only trust is needed. Fear keeps us captive. To fly, we must break free of that fear. With God, all things are possible! Remember this power promise for the New Year: 'Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you p with my victorious right hand.' Isaiah 41:10. Allow God to hold you. Resist fear and live confidently each day as God's beloved child. My hope is that each of us is able to trust our Lord and be strengthened by Him!

Blessings to each of you for 2013!

The Lord continues to do His work in us and I am mighty thankful for that!

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being ... — Ephesians 3:14-16 tniv

This is my prayer for each of my family and friends for the year. Of course, it isn’t my only prayer, but a very important one :-)

Last year I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions; however, I am making some for this year:
 Growing more in my prayer-life.
 Being more conscious of the Lord in everything.
 Doing at least one workout each day.
 Going from room to room and re-evaluating my stuff (this means moving and removing items).
 Planting a garden.
 Canning from my garden.
 Being aware and thankful for each blessing bestowed upon me!
{I am also printing this post, putting it on my fridge and hanging in my cubicle.}

I look forward to updating my progress as time goes on.
