Spring Visit and Resurrection Sunday

The last weekend of March, I went out of town to visit with my dad and his wife.  What a great weekend it was!  I’ve wanted cowboy (girl) boots for ages and purchased some *early birthday gift to me*; we went to a couple of craft stores; ate rosemary fries; crocheted; ate pizza; played cards *313* and had wonderful fellowship.  They live just blocks from the Tulip Farm (see pic)!  It makes for a busy road but the tulips are gorgeous.

Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday and I hope you all were as blessed as me in the remembering of our Lord’s sacrificial death and rising from the grave.  What hope He gives all who believe in His life!

Acts 4:12  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Long Weekend

I took a few days off last week and headed down to visit my family in the Woodburn, Oregon area.  As always, I had a delightful time!

On the drive down and on the drive back, I saw three different herds of big horn sheep.  What beautiful creatures the Lord has created!

The time I am able to spend with my family is priceless.  I am always grateful for the hospitality that my Dad and Jeanine extend to me.  They are kind, gracious and giving people.  We make loose plans and are very flexible while I visit.  It is a non-stressful, relaxing time.

This visit was right in the middle of ‘tulip time’ and there is a tulip farm just down the road from my dad’s property.  With the beautiful weather on Saturday, the cars were lined up and moving slower than turtles.  Luckily we didn’t have any type of emergency.

Surprises are Awesome

Woohoo ~ our surprise birthday get together for my Dad was fabulous!  He had no idea when he walked in Saturday morning.  All his daughters (4) were there, his wife, his two sisters and we were able to skype with his brother.  What a great time was had by all ~ fellowship and food.  The weather was a bit crazy, rain and wind pretty much the whole time I was there (Wed-Mon).  My aunt was able to catch this picture on Saturday!

Vacation

I am back from a wonderful vacation!  I went up to Anchorage to visit my sister and see the amazing handiwork of God, then went down to Woodburn to visit my dad and his wife.  I always enjoy my time with them as we are able to chat about a wide variety of events.  However, I am happy to be home with my sweet kitty, Spice.

Life is Good

Our Women’s ministry at church is kicking off a 12 week Beth Moore study on the Book of Daniel this evening. My small group tackled the Book of Daniel last year; however, a few of us are going to partake of this study to get another perspective. I am looking forward to it.

I just have to share my new favorite shoes: Merrell-Barefoot. I got them on a recent trip down to visit my dad and his wife :~) They are extremely comfortable and I love the color!

This weekend is the MS Walk in our area. I thank all my sponsors ~ I met my goal; yay! I am praying for little or no wind on Sunday as it will be my first ‘official’ walk wearing a skirt. Of course, I walk all the time; this will just be a bit different.

Ouch



I had a wonderful time visiting my Dad and Jeanine in the greater Portland, OR area. It was very rewarding to watch my Dad heal physically during the 5 days I was there. What a scare for all of us! He is such an experienced driver that there were no other casualties – kudos to Dad :-)


The picture above is one of the truck a couple of days after the accident. My Dad came out of the accident with no broken bones -- only bruising, lacerations and swelling along with soreness.

The Lord is good! I cannot praise Him enough for all of the miracles and blessings He gives to each of us every day.
