Understanding
just a note to say how grateful I am to my manager and leads for being so understanding the last couple of weeks. I’ve had to be off work do to miscommunication and they have been extremely supportive!
Start of Remodel
It has begun.
I had to move a lot of boxes and furniture out of the ‘big room’ to get
ready for the ceiling removal. Here are
a few ‘before’ pictures:
We got the ceiling down on
Saturday and pulled up the carpet where the kitchenette/dining area will
be. Here are the ‘after’ pictures:
I’m getting super excited as this is becoming
reality! Praising the Lord for His
faithfulness.

Remodel Anticipation
In our new place, I don’t have
a kitchen area – yet J
I do have a brother-in-law
(only one) who has done tons of demo and remodeling to their home AND he is the
man that did my bathroom remodel in 2010 (check out the Fall 2010 blog posts).
I have picked out the flooring
for the kitchen/dining area which will also be put in the bathroom (yep,
getting a facelift in there, too!).
I’m hoping to post some before
and after pictures of the remodel.
In other news, my mom turned
73 last Friday. I brought home Chinese for
dinner and my sister and family stopped by on Sunday to visit.
Each day is a blessing and I
thank the Lord for every one!

Commuting to Work
SO grateful for our transit system here in Spokane,
Washington. Moving to a new location has
changed my commute options.
I was blessed to be able to carpool with a gal when I lived
closer to work. Now that I have moved, I
am taking advantage of the bus system. I
live close to a Park & Ride and am able to catch an express bus (5 stops
before I get off the bus).
I'm just transitioning from driving to and from every day. The major adjustment is not having the freedom before and after work to stop somewhere, if I wanted.

Happy New Year ~ 2019!
Happy New Year!
I have been completely remiss in blogging over the past year.
In my defense, I had to pack up my home and get it ready for
sale; move my belongings into my parents’ home; purchase a new home; move my
belongings out of my parents’ home; move my parents into the new home and we
just finished the last stage – selling their home of over 40 years. A very long spring/summer/fall.
The blessings are that my house sold the first weekend on
the market; we found a new home the next week; no one has been ill or seriously
injured (we all tend to bruise easily-lol); we are still getting along well and
it has been 5 solid months of a combined household.
Being proactive with aging parents (one diagnosed with Mild
Cognitive Impairment/onset of Dementia) has been a worthwhile endeavor for my
sisters and I.
Thank you everyone for all of the support and prayers
through this living arrangement transition.
A new year means new beginnings – we are so blessed to have
each other.
